Here's what I posted at Refugees (slightly edited to make a little more sense, maybe):

I was well-entertained at the show, I did wish they'd have mixed the set-list up a bit, but I realized that this show was pretty much a warm-up for their Diana and Live Earth gigs. I am happy to see them whether they screw up or not, because it does show they are human and not just phoning it in. I think whatever backing track Nick's using on his hard drive for Sunrise is more of an enhancer to help it sound more like the album & something and less of a "phone-it-in"-er.

I was so relieved to hear the new songs, because I was deathly afraid they were going to sound like something I couldn't incorporate into my radio show to help promote my fave band.

My complaints are not about the performance, but about the nasty-ass bitch whose 6'+ tall husband stood against the regular GA barrier and sulked while blocking the view of my friends who were behind me. I had more issue with the fans than the band.

I don't expect Simon to remember the lyrics to Some Like It Hot, since he didn't write them, and I was so elated that they played that song and worked it into My Own Way (which I'd never heard live before and was dying to) that I just plain didn't give a shit if the words were right. The bass rocked my face off. I don't care if he screws up lyrics on the songs he wrote, but I do reserve the right to find it amusing as hell.

I missed some of the screw-ups because I was ALLEGEDLY snapping pics with my cell-phone and pix-msging them to friends during the damned show, concert-calling and bitching about blonde-bitch (who ended up doing the classic security guard "get me back-stage" flirt, and appeared successful) and her gigantor husband! What posessed me?!

He's sexy as hell and his dad has been bald ever since I first saw a picture of him, so I've sort of been expecting John to go bald eventually. My own dad is bald. I just don't care. Before John there was no sex. If John starts wearing a rug, I'll be very disappointed. I'd rather he go bald and retain his dignity than try to hide it with a rug. If that Rogaine stuff works, whatever, but I think he's happy about all his flaws and laugh lines and such, because I think people finally show him respect and stopped calling him "pretty boy" so much. I am willing to bet that he's welcoming it.

It was great getting to finally meet some TTPRefugees there, and I had a great time with my friends.

I've heard that John decided to relay to the audience that Nick had just said that he thought it was "the worst show [they'd] ever done" to shut Nick up about it. He didn't want Nick harping on any about it after the fact. That, and he tried to be funny by saying that we can tell people that we'd "just witnessed history." "You can now say that you've been to the worst Duran Duran show ever." I also have heard that he was surprised by the immediate negative response from the fans. I thought he/they were joking at the time, but there are some people who can't wait to jump on something negative and run with it.

I really didn't think the performance was bad, but they played about 7 songs that we've all heard at nearly every show since 2000 -- Planet Earth, Hungry Like The Wolf, Save A Prayer, Wild Boys, Girls On Film, The Reflex & Rio. However, they did play: Serious/Nice, Some Like It Hot/My Own Way, Lonely In Your Nightmare, Nite Runner (and I'm sure I'm missing one), though not in either of those two orders. I think the "something special" that was promised to us was a preview of 4 or 5 of the songs that are meant to be on the upcoming album (via the speaker system just before they started their live set), and Nite Runner played live.

Sometimes I've said to myself, "Gee, I hope they don't play (insert song), because I'm growing tired of hearing that one live," but as soon as I'm at the venue and they come out on stage, I don't care if they play the freakin' Macarena! I love seeing them live.

This was not as populated by "die-hard fans" as it could have been, as so many tickets seemed to be allotted to radio giveaways. Also, a friend of mine in another part of the regular GA floor section said that someone turned to her during My Own Way to ask what song they were playing.
