Ok.. recently, my husband and I have been renting a stack of videos each weekend... so I thought I'd list them and what I thought of them. Please feel free to add your list of recent video rentals.
American Psycho
Christian Bale stars in this suspense thriller.
I had no idea what I was getting into when I popped this baby into the VCR. What a kick-ass really frightening movie! Go rent it now... as long as you aren't squeamish. What was most frightening was the realism of the actors' delivery. It had me believing that the main character could actually exist.
Deuce Bigalow, Male Gigalo(sp?)
Rob Schneider stars... Rob's character Deuce is a fish tank cleaner who is asked to fish sit in an expensive bachelor pad that belongs to a man with serious attitude and homicidal tendancies. The guy assures him that if anything is broken when he gets back from his trip, he will kill Deuce. Deuce messes up... and finds an interesting way to come up with the huge amount of cash it will take to fix the place back up. This movie far surpassed my initial impression of what it would be like. I thought it was going to be really awful and incredibly cheesy. It was cheesy... but the general message in it was really heartwarming and fun.
Superstar(w/ Molly Shannon as Mary Catherine Gallager)
Molly Shannon & Will Farell.
It was pretty cute... if you don't like Molly Shannon, you might be turned off. I found it really funny. Lots of cute embarassing moments and prat falls (her signature).
Keeping the Faith
Edward Norton (directed and co-starred), Ben Stiller & Jenna Elfman
are 3 best friends who reunite... Ben is a Rabbi, Edward is a priest... they both discover they have feelings for Jenna. Pretty good movie... I thought it was supposed to be a comedy, but it ended up being much more dramatic than expected. Edward Norton is such a hottie in this!
