Not such a big week for news but I have been talking to all sorts of interesting people about all sorts of interesting things which I hope I will be able to reveal very soon, as well as doing an interview with KID CREOLE about his involvement (complete with THE COCONUTS!) in the forthcoming RetroFest Festival which I will have on the website shortly!
Here's all the news that has been added to the website since the last newsletter...
CROWDED HOUSE will headline the first ever show at London's new O2 Indigo venue on June 28th, the same week in which they release a brand new single 'Don't Stop Now'.
GEORGE MICHAEL's concert in Bratislava at the weekend has been reviewed in the REVIEWS section.
THE STRAY CATS will play their first US tour for fifteen years this summer which includes shows with ZZ TOP and THE PRETENDERS. See GIGS for all the dates.
ECHO AND THE BUNNYMEN will headline this year's Falmouth Festival on August 24th with support from Badly Drawn Boy.
SCRITTI POLITTI will play a short set at Bristol's Venn Festival on June 2nd at the city's Arnolfini Audutorium.
PRINCE is apparently about to announce a seven-week residency in Los Angeles which is rumoured to include seven shows at the 250 capacity Blossom Room from June 15th...
PETER GABRIEL has been awarded the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at last week's Ivor Novello songwriting awards in London.
ADAM ANT will publish his autobiography 'Stand & Deliver' as a paperback on September 7th with a new chapter written to bring the story right up to date.
KAJAGOOGOO will release a new single 'Rocket Boy' on June 25th.
NEW ORDER have issued a statement to the effect that the band is still together following bassist PETER HOOK's comments that they have split up. Accoring to the statement 'Peter Hook can leave the band, but this doesn't mean the end of New Order'.
MARC ALMOND has announced UK dates in Manchester, Bristol and London in June and July. See GIGS for details.
DEBBIE HARRY dueted with Lily Allen on The US's TV show 'The Today Show' last week. The singers performed BLONDIE's 'Heart Of Glass' as part of a four-song Blondie set.
IRON MAIDEN will play a special one-off charity show at London's Brixton Academy on June 24th in aid of The Clive Burr MS Trust Fund set up in memory of the band's first drummer.
