Oh sure.. get all deep!!!LOL I do agree with you both about looks however! Yes I do appricate the way John looks ( and talk about it often ) but you are right. Those mag drive me crazy but they have been doing that junk for years. They now how to play on the imagination of teens .... to well!
Belive me as some one who isn't a size 2 I'm all for liking people for who they are.... personality often makes a person more attractive anyway

Ok as someone who has been somewhat guilty of what you guys are talking about I must say this... there is a difference in acctualy thinking the crazy things your thinking and saying could ACCTUALY happen and just might AND just being silly after a *&%#@@ day or week or what ever! I think the trick is knowing the difference yourself. I'm sure there are others who agree with me in this. Yes, John is amazing but no madder what I say (or type ) it is VERY important to remember that, as it was well stated before, he is a regular human and nothing but that! ( and I wouldn't trade my husband for anyone!!!)

Alright, I'm going to put my two cents in this one:

I totally agree with Crev and Pre, a man is definitely more than good looks. I've met too many men who were drop-dead sexy and gorgeous and then you meet them and go out with them and you find out they're empty inside and have nothing more to talk about than their looks and their conquest of the world.

Like Tigress, I am guilty of a little gushing. But I can seperate reality from fantasy and it's just sometimes a little fun to poke fun at someone who has been put on a pedestal for so long. Not that i'm trying to belittle anyone or make them out to be a piece of meat but like tigress said, it's just a type of personal outlet. And like Pre said, we have all done it at some time or another. It's only normal.

I'm a writer and I read somewhere that writers, artists, and church ministers are fantasy hyperactive. And I only write what other people want to hear. But that doesn't mean i'm going to stalk John (or any other rock/pop/movie star) and follow every little move he makes. That i think would be crazy. As a matter of fact, i think i would probably be scared to approach John for an autograph if i ever had the chance. (just a little shy in that department.)

He has his own life. His own wife. His own children. He's only human, thrust in the spotlight by what he enjoys doing the most. What would he want to do with any of his fans except appreciate they are there for him to buy his newest musical endeavor or watch his latest acting stint? As a long-time fan of John's, I know he is just as human as any of us, going through the ups and downs in life and struggling to find an identity of his own. (and finally finding it)

Yes, I too, cannot stand some of those posts i have seen at other boards. Posts that seem like they breathe, eat, and sleep John. Where people actually think they will someday meet him, cause him to divorce his beautiful wife, and marry him and live happily ever after. Those kind of people do need to get a life.

I was twelve-fifteen when John and the rest of DD were at the height of their popularity. And yes, magazines like Bop and Teen Beat were horrible to print such brainwashing junk. But that's how it is. Journalism takes all kinds of forms. Like I said, writers are there to write about what that particular kind of audience wants to hear. Be it truth or not.

My daughter will be 9 in a few days. And lately, she has been into those boy bands like N'sync and Backstreet Boys. I'm not discouraging her love for their music but then i started to notice her watching a certain N'sync video over and over again. And then she asked me at the store for a magazine that had N'sync posters in it. She bought it with her own allowance and we later hung up some posters of the group and Justin Timberlake in her room. And it reminded me of when I was a teen and the DD posters i had hung in my own room. And that's when I sat her down and explained the difference between a "crush" and real love.

I'm mature now, (at least I think I am!) fixing to turn 30. I've had a hard life, gone through three miscarriages, going homeless a couple of times, a divorce and re-marriage, and going through a tough time with my daughter since she has a couple of medical problems. I think that's why I love to write. To escape to my own little world. And that's why I hang out at boards where we can be a little silly sometimes. To laugh and have a good time.

But all of this is just a matter of personal opinion.
