I just wanted to post a little note to help get the ball rolling in terms of people planning events.
LOCAL EVENTS:
1. Start a thread with your city in the title
2. In the body of the message, ask if anyone would be interested in scheduling a regular gathering at a local bar, restaurant or cafe.
3. Try to keep in mind that it should be a relatively inexpensive place, because it's just not nice to assume that everyone can afford a $6 drink or a $12 meal. It's the truth, trust me. Also, bear in mind that if it's going to be a monthly event, it can't break the bank each time, or people may stop coming, I think.
PRE/POST-DURAN SHOW MEET-UPS
1. Start a thread with the show you're going to in the title.
2. Ask if anyone who's going would be interested in meetiing up either before or after the show, and see if you can find a location that's near the venue. (Bar, Grill, Bar & Grill, Restaruant)
3. Again, try to take into consideration the prices so that even the shoe-string budget folks will have a chance to attend.
Any input should always be welcome. The idea is that we start discussions that will let people that live in the same area (or that are going to the same show) decide together on a place and time to meet.
In fact, I'm still open for suggestions.
